The Gospel will be Told, not Sold.

One of the key themes, visions and goals of this ministry is to seek repentance and enter the narrow gate, that only few find.

Translation

13Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14But small is the gate and narrow the way that leads to life, and only a few find it.

Matthew 7:13–14BSB

13¶ Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Matthew 7:13–14KJV

13“Enter in by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter in by it. 14How narrow is the gate and the way is restricted that leads to life! There are few who find it.

The name and the logo come from one verse. The 714 is Matthew 7:14, its chapter and its verse.

Read it in the three translations the app carries, then in the Greek it was written in.

Inside the app

Read one translation, or two side by side, verse by verse. The app opens on the Berean Standard Bible: modern, readable and dedicated to the public domain.

Type John 3:16, Ps 23 or a few words you remember, and go straight to the passage or search the whole text. After one download the whole Bible lives on your device and opens without a connection.

Open the interlinear under any verse of the Old or New Testament: the Hebrew, Aramaic or Greek word, its transliteration, its gloss and its Strong’s number. Tap a word for its grammar spelled out and its entry in Brown-Driver-Briggs or Abbott-Smith.

Every word has its own study: its dictionary form, Strong’s and the full lexicon entries, every form it takes and every place it occurs, its root family, and a network of the words it keeps company with.

Communities received different collections of books over the centuries. The app carries the books they share and those only some receive, tags each one by the traditions that hold it, and compares 99 books across five traditions.

The Gospel will be Told, not Sold.

Free, all the way down.

Not only the app: every text, lexicon and cross-reference beneath it is freely licensed, and checked to be. There is no price and no account, and there never will be.

  • Freely licensed texts

Public domain and open licences only. The build refuses any source whose licence is not on the list.

  • Nothing to sell

No payments, no ads, no analytics. Automated checks stop the build if any of them appear.

  • Open source

The code is free software, and what the ministry writes is shared alike, so it stays free wherever it goes.

How we work

Three commitments run through everything.

  1. Two layers, kept apart

Reference material gives each tradition's own account, with its sources. The ministry's teaching speaks in its own voice and is always marked as such, so you know which is which.

  2. Truth over framing

Where a popular framing and the documented record differ, the record is shown and the framing is named.

  3. Reverence for the text

Nothing here writes Scripture or a definition. Every verse and every lexicon entry is its source's own text, byte for byte, and checked against it.

Teaching

The ministry’s own voice

In preparation

Teaching from Gateroad Ministry

Teaching in the ministry’s own words is being written. When it comes, it will be marked as teaching, one step away from the reference material, so the reader always chooses to hear it.
